Announced by US President Donald Trump this morning via Truth Social, the President stated “The ceasefire is now in effect. Please do not violate it!”
Now several hours later The israeli Government has released a statement reading:
“Israel thanks President Trump and the United States for their support in defense and their participation in eliminating the Iranian nuclear threat.
In light of achieving the objectives of the operation, and in full coordination with President Trump, Israel has agreed to the president’s proposal for a bilateral cease-fire.”

Notably, Iran has not made a statement agreeing to the ceasefire.
The past week has seen major conflict arise in the Israel and Iran war due to the US’s involvement as its military targeted 3 nuclear bases in Iran’s northwest.
On Sunday US President Donald Trump announced in a statement that the nation “completed a very successful attack on the three nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz and Esfahan…”. The President has outlined the US’s strong allyship with Israel being a major factor in the country’s involvement
The bombing comes after Israel and Iran have been consistently exchanging strikes after the UN’s nuclear watchdog raised concerns about the use of Iran’s nuclear material being used for military purposes.
Following the watch dogs release, Israel struck Iran military targets believed to hold nuclear capability and the residences of military officials which lead to Iran’s retaliation targeting Israeli cities of Tel Aviv and Haifa, including the striking of a major hospital.
A total of approximately 1000 civilian deaths has been recorded with a majority being Iranian citizens. Approximately, a combined 5000 individuals have been wounded in the conflict.
